Who writes these pages
milford-sound-tours.com is run by Patrick Kühne, an independent travel publisher based in Markkleeberg near Leipzig, Germany. Milford Sound is one of several day-tour guides he publishes. There is no agency and no rotating editorial team behind this site. One person researches the Milford pages, keeps them current and answers the e-mails.
What this site does
Six operators run more than forty different departures on Milford Sound: scenic day cruises, small-boat trips, coach-and-cruise days from Queenstown and Te Anau, fly-cruise-fly packages and overnight stays on the fiord. We describe what actually separates them (boat size, departure time, roof or no roof, hours on the bus) and show live prices next to each, so the choice can be made in one place. We are not a booking agent. Every reservation happens on the provider’s own site.
How we earn money
When you book a cruise or flight through one of our links, the provider pays us a commission out of its own margin, so your price does not change. No operator pays for a better spot on these pages. The comparisons are sorted by what suits the trip, such as base town, boat size or time of day, not by commission.
Where prices and boat details come from
Prices, ratings and review counts are pulled from our booking partner’s live API and refreshed automatically several times a day, so the number on the page is the number at checkout. Departure times, boat specifications and route details come from the operators themselves and are re-checked regularly. If a departure time or boat detail has changed, an e-mail is enough and the page gets corrected.
What we are not
We do not operate any boats and we are not affiliated with RealNZ, Southern Discoveries, Pure Milford, Cruise Milford, Mitre Peak Cruises or Fiordland Discovery. They run the cruises; we describe them. Cancellations, weather closures and changed departures are binding only as the operator announces them on its own channels.
